The USF personal training programs are on the rise in recent years. The FIT Program, a program designed to pair seniors in USF's Exercise Science Program with faculty and staff members is a truly unique program. Students assist clients with fitness assessments and develop individual training plans. They also supervise post-assessments to evaluate the results. Maureen Chiodini, a USF instructor says the FIT Program complements USF's course work and provides students real-world experience.

USF students, faculty and staff can avail of the three fitness facilities for only $316/year. Faculty and staff can purchase daily or monthly guest passes to the gym. You can access the entire rate card online. You can also use the campus gym without a LA Fitness membership. Campus Recreation offers a great opportunity to continue your education and become a personal trainer. The staff at Campus Recreation will respond to your online form and evaluate your physical condition. This assessment will help them determine what exercises will work best for you. After that, they'll assign you a trainer so that your training sessions can start. One-hour assessment of flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness will be part of the first session. After the evaluation, students will be able to exercise with their trainers and set goals for their fitness.

There are three USF campuses that offer a gym. All three facilities are available for free to students, faculty, staff and others. The Campus Recreation Center offers some of Florida’s finest amenities. It is a great facility. Due to the large student population, USF gyms can get crowded. A good personal training program should be flexible enough to meet your schedule.
